eNodeB Protocol Stack

The LTE protocol stack is the core of our technology. It is 100% a result of our own development, which gives us total control to adapt the features and behavior of the system to specific environments if required. It is compatible with chipsets from leading manufacturers in the market, and 100% compatible with the FAPI (API Small Cell Forum). This facilitates its integration into new HW platforms of other chipsets from other suppliers. It also includes advanced operation and maintenance functions (OAM) with TR-069, the de-facto standard for femtocell management, including proprietary extensions that allow  supporting operator-specific functions. The stack is designed as defined in the Rel. 9 of the 3GPP, and already includes specific Rel.10 functionalities.

Our SN4G Stack software provides total control of the small cell network, while at the same time optimizes the performance and cost-effectiveness of the network. It includes advanced features for connectivity control, operation and maintenance, and self-organization capabilities (SON). In addition, the small cell base stations running with our SN4G Stack are Plug & Play, i.e., when activated, the femtocell looks for the HeMS (HeNB Management System) that configures it using TR-069 and TR-196. The connection is always secure through IPSec tunnels and certificates.

SN4G Stack comprises the HeNodeB LTE protocol stack that ensures full compliance with the standard, and two fully customizable modules: the RRM (Radio Resource Management) and the OAM module (Operation And Maintenance). By customizing the Radio Resource Management and the Operation and Maintenance modules, the vendor and the operator can differentiate the behavior of the Small Cell Network, according to their deployment and strategic needs. For example, adding specific SON features like Interference Management,   Self-Configuring capabilities, or specialized Joint Radio Resource Management, allowing a powerful framework to implement powerful enterprise coordinated solutions, Security and provisioning procedures, Operator customization or Management Framework customization.

The SN4G Stack also includes a TR-069 agent, a Command Line Interface and a Web Access, over the OAM Module, giving full control of the configuration and performance of the base stations.

The SN4G Stack can include the SN4G SON agent, our dSON module that performs on the base station the Self-Organizing Networks actions decided and coordinated by the centralized SON, our SN4G SON Manager.
